Food for Thought: The stubborn Black Dot

Imagine you just had a conversation with a person which lasted 120mins.
119 mins 30 seconds were praises of you.
the remaining 30sec was about something bad about u.

do you only remember the bad comment after u've ended the conversation?

did you forget about the 119mins and 30secs of praises?

Why do we always focus on the black dot on a piece of white paper when it can be simply erased with a correction tape?

  1. Do you realise that temoving that black dot is also a form of paying attention to it? It is just like taking action on that 30s of bad comment.

It is not impossible to disregard the black dot and that bad comment. Imagin now this 120mins is spent with someone you know for the first time and that 30s was things that you aren't quite convinced with. Will you then pay attention to it?

You pay attention to it because you want to improve yourself.

  2. yes, u're absolutely right! It's not about ignoring the 'black dot' but "erasing" it after u take actions to improve/change. But at the same time, we must also know that we're good and appreciated too~
